At the heart of the EK-Quantum Velocity² Edge D-RGB - 1700 Silver Special Edition is the next-generation OptiFlow cooling engine. This advanced engine is meticulously tailored for the IHS and die layout of Intel LGA 1700 socket processors, utilizing a specific combination of mounting pressure and cold plate geometry. The outcome is a low hydraulic flow restriction design, enabling the use of less powerful water pumps or reduced pump speeds for quieter operation, all while maintaining exceptional performance levels. The lathe-turned cold plate ensures optimal contact and heat transfer, thoroughly covering the processor and conforming to Intel's safe zone guidelines.
The cold plate of this water block is manufactured of the highest-grade 99.99% pure electrolytic copper, precision-machined to ensure the best possible contact and superior heat transfer. This version of the water block boasts a nickel-plated cold plate paired with a robust plexi top. Adding to its distinctive design, the top cover is made from high-grade aluminum, intricately CNC-milled into an array of irregular tetrahedrons, and finished in elegant silver anodization. Before the CNC process, the top cover material, consisting of a 30mm thick aluminum sheet, is carefully prepared, ensuring robustness and precision in design. This meticulous combination of top-tier materials and advanced manufacturing techniques provides both exceptional performance and striking aesthetics.
Our patented EK-ExactMount system revolutionizes the installation process. Consisting of just three components – a backplate, mounting screws, and the water block itself – it achieves a seamless and aesthetically pleasing front appearance without any screws in sight. The pre-tensioned springs hidden in the water block top ensure quick installation and the correct mounting pressure, making it user-friendly and safe for your hardware.
Compatible with all popular addressable RGB sync technologies from major motherboard manufacturers, the EK-Quantum Velocity² Edge D-RGB - 1700 Silver Special Edition features 25 addressable RGB LEDs. These LEDs create a sophisticated lighting display, accentuating the unique tetrahedron design and enhancing the overall appeal of your system. The arrow marking on the 3-pin D-RGB LED connector is to be aligned with the +5V marking on the D-RGB header.
This Special Edition water block fully complies with EK-Matrix7, our innovative standard in PC liquid cooling. This is the 2nd generation Vector GPU water block from the EK® Quantum Line, designed for EVGA® FTW3 RTX 3070 and FTW3 RTX 3070 Ti graphics cards based on the latest NVIDIA® Ampere™ architecture. EK-Quantum Vector FTW3 3070 Ti D-RGB water block is compatible with FTW3 RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti graphics cards. The Vector water block actively cools the GPU, VRAM, power stages, and chokes in the VRM (voltage regulation module).
These newly developed water blocks feature optimized flow paths that reduce hydrodynamic instabilities and vortexing (dead spots) inside of them.
The EK-Quantum Vector Series water blocks use an Open Split-Flow cooling engine design, which proved to be a superior solution for GPU water blocks. It is characterized by low hydraulic flow restriction, meaning it can be used with weaker water pumps or pumps running on low-speed settings, and still achieve top performance. The jet plate and fin structure geometry have been optimized to provide even flow distribution with minimal losses and optimal performance when used in any given coolant flow orientation.
The base of the block is CNC-machined out of nickel-plated electrolytic copper, while its top is CNC-machined out of durable POM acetal. These 2nd generation Vector GPU water blocks also feature Acetal terminals. The watertight sealing is ensured by high-quality EPDM O-rings, while brass standoffs are already pre-installed and allow for a safe and easy installation procedure.
The aesthetic corner end-piece is housing the addressable D-RGB LEDs. This water block boasts a total of 8 individually addressable RGB LEDs, and it is compatible with popular RGB sync technologies from all major motherboard manufacturers. The arrow marking on the 3-pin D-RGB LED connector is to be aligned with the +5V marking on the D-RGB (addressable) header.
EK recommends the purchase of a retention backplate, especially for the 3070 models of graphics cards. The backplate improves the overall aesthetics of your graphics cards and also provides additional passive cooling for the GPU core, and backside of the printed circuit board VRM section.
