The Alphacool ES fans were specially developed for use in servers and workstations and, unlike usual, do not offer a 2 or 3-pin DC power connection, but a 4-pin PWM control.
PWM control
Instead of using the usual 2 cables or the 3-pin connection, Alphacool now uses a modern 4-pin PWM connection for the Enterprise fans, which is supported by more and more server motherboards. The fan always receives full voltage via the 4-pin PWM connection and is controlled by pulse width modulation. This means that the fan can be controlled over a much larger speed range. By controlling the fans in server racks, a considerable amount of energy can be saved. With 0% PWM control, the fans can even be stopped completely. The fan also offers a gentle start, which increases the service life of the fan and reduces the risk of injury. At speeds of several thousand revolutions per minute, no body parts should get between the fan blades.
Double ball bearing
Unlike classic plain bearings, the Alphacool ES fans have a double ball bearing for an increased service life under full load. Double ball bearings are generally considered to be the highest quality bearings in terms of durability and quality. This also ensures a high level of smoothness in terms of minimal vibrations.
Protection circuits
All Enterprise fans from Alphacool have several protective circuits. If the fans are blocked, they will attempt to restart automatically after a few seconds at a reduced speed. The gentle start-up, including the emergency start function, means the fan can be blocked for up to 72 hours without being damaged. If the polarity is reversed when connecting, the electronics will not burn out for at least 5 seconds. So if the fan is connected incorrectly for a short time, it is not a problem.
The Alphacool ES fans for servers and workstations offer an extremely high air flow and a very high static pressure. They are therefore ideal for use on radiators or as particularly powerful case fans.

Whisper Quiet
The fan blades, motor and its suspension are completely decoupled from the metal frame. For this purpose, a special damping system was placed between the metal frame and the fan, which absorbs all vibrations. This type of decoupling is a completely new system, which is brought to the market by Alphacool for the first time with the Apex fan. In addition, the impeller is equipped with a closed frame that prevents the impeller tips from fluttering at high speed, which also has a positive effect on the fan's characteristics.
Powerful All-rounder
The Alphacool Apex Stealth metal fan is a true all-rounder. It sets new standards in terms of airflow and static pressure. Therefore, this fan is not only perfect for mounting on radiators, but also provides excellent airflow as a case fan. The Apex Stealth can be controlled between 0 to 3000 rpm via the 4-pin PWM connector. The startup speed is ~500 rpm. In addition, the Stealth offers Zero RPM control, which can be used to bring the fan to a complete stop.

Additional Features
As usual with Alphacool, multiple fans can be effortlessly connected in series via daisy chain. The cables can be hidden in the corners of the fan so that they are no longer visible. A 50 cm PWM cable is also included as an extension. The 6-pole motor in combination with the HDB bearing (Hydro Dynamic Bearing) ensures extremely quiet operation and high durability.
